Pembrokeshire - Local Facilities & Attractions
Eating Out
There are no shops or hostelries in Cwm-yr-Eglwys beyond the ice cream van that visits daily in the summer months. Within a 15 minute walk through the valley (or 1 1/2 hours around the headland of Dinas Island) there is the Old Sailors, a very good pub/restaurant serving local lobster, crab and fish. Further afield in Newport there are some wonderful restaurants and bars.Llys Meddyg, Newport www.llysmeddyg.com

Shopping
The small shop in Dinas provides most essentials and Newport has a very good butcher, small fishmonger (on road down to the Parrog) small supermarket, delicatessen and chemist. Fishguard is much larger and also has a weekly farmers market on Saturdays.Sporting and Cultural Activities
For all activities but in particular the many local music, craft and arts festivals visit the two main tourist websites.(Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park) www.pcnpa.org.uk

Wild Life
The Pembrokeshire National Park is rich in flora, particularly in early summer when the spectacular cliffs around Dinas Island are a perfect breeding ground for many sea birds, kestrels and peregrine falcons. From the cliff path, sightings of seals, porpoises and dolphins are frequent and can occasionally be seen swimming in Cwm-yr-Eglwys bay at high tide"Exquisite cottage, beautifully furnished and in a superb location, the best place we have ever stayed in." - Owen Family Shrewsbury
